On the Greater Kruger Guided Safaris and some of the 'Add-On' packages, you will be accommodated at private camps that will guarantee a unique experience of Africa . Two types of camps are provided, namely safari camps and cultural village camps.

• At the safari camps, five comfortable safari tents are permanently mounted on raised wooden decks.
• At the cultural village camps, five authentic thatched wooden rondawels provide unique and comfortable accommodation.
• All the camps have a thatched central lapa (dining) area with full kitchen and dining facilities, as well as a campfire or barbeque area. All lighting is provided by paraffin lamps.

• They accommodate a maximum of ten guests with two people sharing per rondawel or tent, ensuring a personal experience away from the crowds.
• Camps are designed to blend into the natural environment and to be as unobtrusive to the natural habitat of the animals as possible.
• Due to the fact that the safari camps are unfenced, animals are often spotted within the camp or close by in the surrounding bush - an up-close encounter with the real African bush and wildlife!
• Although part of Greater Kruger with no fences separating them from Kruger Park, the reserves which contain the safari camps are more secluded, less developed, have far fewer tourists, and are full of wildlife including the Big 5.
• The camps are described as 'private' because only your group of family/friends will be accommodated at each camp for every night of your safari.
• Given all of the above, the Ashtons Greater Kruger Guided Safaris are far removed from the usual tourist experience. Breathe Africa!
